When we were hunter gatherers, every man worked for himself. Agricultural revolution and Industrial Age created the hierarchical nature of modern bureaucracy . The Information Age will reverse this

UBI is a non-solution to a non-problem — automation of jobs has been happening since the dawn of time. Jobs are not fixed, we have not been dividing up the same number of jobs since the Stone Age. New technology makes old jobs obsolete and creates new jobs. It is impossible to know what the new jobs will be

Problems with UBI:

• UBI is the first step towards a slipper slope of socialism, the bottom 51% would vote to have the top 49% allocated to them. Entrepreneurs would flee and it would bankrupt the economy. It would undermine capitalism
• It does not give people meaning. You lower them on the social hierarchy. Teach a man to fish don’t throw him rotting carcasses
• There would need to be means testing which would revert back to the welfare system to determine who needs it more

We are nowhere near general AI, most AI is pattern recognition. How can you simulate intelligence when you don’t even know how the brain works? Nature is parsimonious, there are calculations going on inside of the cells. Thinking we can replicate a brain at the neuron level by having an on/off switch is overly simplistic.
