Most books / lectures don't get the point across because they expect to much of the audience. The teacher / write expects the audience is as interested in the topic is they are.
You need tension to move forward, you need to draw a rubber band back to fling it forward. People need to resolve tension by learning.
Bad teachers tell their audience too much, too early and don't give the audience members the chance to relieve their own tension, they take away the magic of learning. Learning is the process of resolving the tension for yourself
